Check out this great band based in Walsall - THE STRiKE

It was really exciting when we found this band, such a bright and positive sound (perfect for this site!)

THE STRiKE are a fantastic ska band with a great West Midlands - West London band member mix.
What is it about the Midlands/London musical potions that creates great music and bands, we at Cannock Creative don't really know, but we love it!

The band is based in Walsall and they'v been gigging since 2014 and we at CC hope it continues for a good while to come. If you like what you hear in the Youtube video's then you should check them out at Woody's bar in Hednesford on the 22nd of January and if you can't make that date then they are also doing some more gigs there on 30th April, 20th august and the 3rd of December so there's plenty of chances to get down there and see them play.

THE STRiKE are a 5 piece, ambitious NewTone Ska band from the West Midlands and West London. The band's line up was completed in May 2014 and have since gigged with members of The specials, The English Beat and various great upcoming bands too.

They've played and headlined various venues including The Institute and The O2 Academy Birmingham and are quickly generating newly found interest in the ska scene. THE STRiKE have also self released a double A side single WarZone/Dirty Work and have been featured on Specialized 4: Combat Cancer album covering The Clash’s Death or Glory and are hoping to release their first studio album by next year.

Some Cannock musical folk history

Here's our first ever 'proppa'  post and what better way to mark the birth of Cannock Creative with some good ole Staffordshire music History,

A big thank you to Keith Bradbury for these photos. Keith was a local passionate folk musician for many years playing all over the country.

Here are some photo's from local musicians including a gig in Liverpool's Penny Lane.
You can check out more of this classic memorabilia at the '  Cannock Chase Folk Music Scene Memories From Late 1950s Onwards' facebook group.

Thanks Keith!

Welcome to Cannock Creative

If you'v just stumbled across this site then welcome!

The Cannock Creative site is well still in it's early days, but we'll soon be featuring as much local talent as possible from musicians, artists, crafters to community champions and campaigners.
It's all about stuff that's good for the soul.

We'r hoping to raise enough money by the end of summer to shift over to an actual website but being on an extremely tight budget we'r currently hosting on blogger. (We'l get there!)
If your a web designer and can offer any favors in return for some free promotion then we'd love to here from you.

We have an online handmade shop which sells and lists goods produced by local people and small business's in the area as well as information on local talent and coming soon in the near future, podcasts.
